What a simply fantastic old set of puzzle blocks from around the late 40's or early 50's ! The set comes in its own wooden case that measures 16" x 11". The blocks are hollow wood, paper covered, and each is 1 5/8" square. There are six paper pictures to demonstrate the six different puzzles. The paper on the front of the lid is pretty worn and missing some bits but is 90% there. The little latches on the case are broken off. The cubes themselves demonstrate some wear of course and there is some lifting of the paper and some scruffy bits but in general they are remarkably good for a 50 plus years old childrens game. The paper pictures are in general a bit scruffy with rips and the odd bits missing on the edges. However, they are about 99% complete and with careful gluing could be tidied up really well. The vertical lines showing on the various pictures are actually the pink strings that hold the picture sheets in the top of the inner lid. The picture sheets carry a brand of CS cie. This is a real collectors piece and certainly amongst the creme de la creme of puzzle blocks !
