A huge pair of fabulously decorated SHOE STIRRUPS from Peru ....we think the period is 1830-1860 but it could well be earlier. The Shoe Stirrups have hand-carved wooden shoes overlaid in sheet Alpacca Silver that is beautifully decorated in repousse with the addition of a Wolfs Head at each of the four corners of both pieces. These Shoe Stirrups are larger and more elaborate than any others we have ever seen .... each one weighs approximately 2 kilos and measures 10 inches in height, 9 1/2" in width, and 7" in depth at the widest extremities. Simply outstanding Museum Quality Collectors pieces that will "display" beautifully.
