Victorian Era Advertising Poster For "PIPES For The Goldfields"
A genuine older poster for INDERWICK'S PIPES, mounted on thick cardboard backing. As can be clearly seen in the pictures this item is very old and displays plenty of wear signs. Artist unknown ...copy reads: Pipes for the gold diggings at J. Inderwick's, wholesale and retail warehouse, 58 Princes St, Leicester Sqr, London. Emigrants will find smoking pipes the most profitable article they can take to the Gold Regions, as they will have no difficulty in selling them at six times their cost. This poster is probably a later copy from the original which would likely date to the 1850's-60's. This one may well date to the late 1800's or early 1900's by the look of it.. Inderwick & Co was founded in the early 19th century by John Inderwick. The poster size is 15 3/4" x 11"
