This large tray features a scene of the Sugar Loaf in Rio de Janeiro along with a map of South America. The scene is made of a combination of Butterfly Wings and art painting, along with inlaid woodwork on the wooden tray part. The use of Butterfly Wings has now been banned but in the early 1900's to mid 1900's they were used extensively in souvenir items such as this. This tray dates to around 1910-1920.
