This a stunner filled with over 30 large full page illustrations...the book is 15" x 11" so is a good large one. All of these illustrations would be wonderful framed-up.
What they show is animal life and scenes showing life as it was back in the 1880's in England....Gypsy encampment, sheep drovers with their flock in a London Street, Battle Horses being called by bugle following a battle, a farmer wandering alongside the canal or river with his horse...and so on. Also a lot of illustrations of other birds and animals....too many to show.
Published by George Routledge & Sons, London, in 1884 and in just marvelous condition for its 117 years of age. A rare book I would think.
