I'm told that this type of art work using bird feathers was very popular in the 1700's amongst "Ladies" of the time. Whether this is from the 1700's I obviously don't know....could well be.... but certainly I'd say 1800's without doubt . Framed in an old ebony frame, the feathers used to form the parrot are still amazingly bright and colourful. Measures 19" x 11". The tree bough and flowers are painted on.
