Launched in Belfast 1901 for White Star Line and operated in conjunction with Shaw Savill Albion as a passenger/ cargo vessel on the London to New Zealand route. Her sister vessels were Ionic and Corinthic. Designated as a Royal Mail Ship in 1926. Served as a troop ship in W.W.One. Sold in 1928 to Norway ... . renamed S.S Pelagos....used as a Whaling ship. In control of Germans in WW2.....sunk by British Sub 1944. Salvaged by Norway ...eventually scrapped 1962.

Likely this RMS designation is a rather rare item as used only from 1926 to 1928.
