A small scrimshaw decorated cows horn ' Black Powder Horn' dating to the late 1700's to early 1800's. The Horn is just 5 inches in length...it has an applied cover at the wide end but is missing the cap from the narrow 'Pour' end. A very old item and beautifully decorated with two Roman era figures and flowers & leaves. This family that owns this piece comes from a Whaling background going back to early New Zealand whaling days.
