A Superb Late Qing Period piece from the late 1800's to Early 1900's. The wood is probably a Rosewood variety and is beautifully carved with a huge amount of detail work. The Dragon is a Five Clawed one which I believe denotes a symbol for the Emperor or Imperial Family. The Frame measures around 10 inches by 9 inches and is Half and inch thick...all carved in one piece...the picture space is approximately 4" x 3 3/4" The removable back picture cover looks to be a newer replacement piece. We are listing three different Qing Period frames....these have been in the same family the entire time ...the Father of the current owner collected the frames in China in the early 1900's and the present owners are now moving to a Retirement Village so are 'de-cluttering'.
A fabulous genuine antique top quality piece.
