A lovely little pair of Peruvian Ladies Stirrup Shoes fashioned in Alpaca Silver with glass stone decoration. We think these date to around 1940's-50's and are still made for use in Processions or ceremonial parades etc. Alpaca Silver (Alpacca) refers to an alloy* that imitates sterling silver. This non-precious bright silvery-grey metal alloy is made up of copper, zinc and nickel and sometimes iron. Alpaca Silver does NOT conntain any real silver...... it is just another name for Nickel Silver.
