This old PATRIOTIC Tin dates to around the start of World War One in 1914....it depicts Earl Kitchener as Secretary of State of War........he was appointed at the start of the First World War in 1914. Kitchener became Secretary of State for War, a Cabinet Minister. One of the few to foresee a long war, lasting for at least three years, and with the authority to act effectively on that perception, he organised the largest volunteer army that Britain had seen, and oversaw a significant expansion of materials production to fight on the Western Front. The tin also has graphics of Sir John French and Sir John Jellicoe plus army and naval scenes together with the Boy Scouts and Nursing. In pretty good condition for over 100 years of age....some fade and scrapes but No rust or serious dents. Measures 5" x 5" x 3 3/4"
