A large 21 1/2" tall Black Baby Doll made in New Zealand By PEDIGREE Circa 1950's. Described usually as a Walking Doll it is made in hard plastic and is fully jointed as per pictures ......and has lovely 'Sleep Eyes' as well. The doll has a voice box on back but this no longer makes any sounds. In very good condition overall these PEDIGREE BLACK BABY DOLLS are now very collectible.
Near Identical to the English-made Pedigree Dixie and Mandy Lou, the Made in NZ dolls are hard plastic, head-turning walkers, made between the 1940s and 1950s. With a manual walking motion of their legs, their heads turn from side to side and they have flirty/follow-me eyes, astrakhan wigs, and closed mouths with slightly exaggerated, red-painted lips.
