Lovely old African Zulu Hunting Weapons dating from the mid to late 1800's. The Assegai measures 44" in length with a wood shaft and iron spear tip fixed together by rawhide binding with neat stitching. The Knobkierrie is 24" in length. Great examples of Zulu workmanship.Note these are 'light' hunting weapons rather than than the larger ones used in warfare. The big broad bladed Assegai's used by Chaka's Impi's had wide blades up to 3 foot long.
