Royal Doulton Bursleim "Falconry" porcelain jug pitcher "Falconry", 1913.
Arts and Crafts era polychromatic transferware porcelain jug.
Two men and a woman on horseback follow a falcon (on the back of the jug). All wear Renaissance period clothing colorized in green and burgundy. A peasant with his sheep assists at the scene, and English buildings and castles are on the background.
Border has beautiful scrolls, crosses, and stripes in shades of cobalt blue.
Very hard to find.
Base marks: Royal Doulton Bursleim - "Falconry" - England. Handwritten: D 3694? Not very clear - see picture. (D numbers were produced between 1899 and 1934).
H: 7.3 inches (18.7 cm)
Base: 5.3 x 4.3 inches (13.5 x 11 cm)
Very good antique condition, small unnoticeable chip on the spout (please see picture).
