Two trouts swim on this 5-3/4 inch tall majolica pitcher or jug, maker unknown (American, English or Continental?) from the 1800's. The piece is nicely detailed with water plants and rocks on the bottom of the stream as well as decorative motifs under the rim and on the spout. There is a tiny nick on the rim that can be seen and tiny roughness on the spout - not at all unusual for low-fired majolica. Found in the US and likely made in Ohio, but the only mark on the bottom is unreadable. An interesting and amusing item to add to a collection of fishing paraphernalia.
