A 4-1/8 inch tall vase made in England circa 1935 in Rhodanthe designed by Clarice Cliff. The ribbed shape also was designed by Cliff, emulating hand coiled pots although this was molded. Rhodanthe is the orange version of Aurea (green, pink) and Viscaria (blue); all were popular and produced for years. The marks indicate this piece is an early example as it is stamped Wilkinson. The interior is filled with the drip glaze technique and the exterior flowers are bright and complete with the orange applied overglaze. The vase is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration.
