Here's an exciting antique Austro-Hungarian pendant necklace with gorgeous blue stones, mother of pearl (MOP), and enameling, that has been updated. The stones are large, vibrant, and eye-catching, all set in ornate silver work (there is a trace of gilding left). The blue stones are pastes that resemble sapphires. (My sincere apologies to all of you who saw that in my previous listing I described them as spinels; the necklace was sold to me as such I and hadn't tested them myself.) The five MOP stones, so characteristic of A-H jewelry, are lustrous; the large center stone is framed by beautiful, virtually flawless, white and black enamel work in the shape of a flower. The new sterling chain and dangling baroque pearl give this beautiful pendant the new life it deserves. Unmarked silver. Pendant is 1-1/2" including the dangling pearl. The chain is 17". Fine condition.
