Massive signed Peruzzi Boston pendant in sterling with a gold wash and dangling carnelian beads. This is the first gold-washed Peruzzi I've seen, and it's gorgeous.
The medallion includes characteristic Peruzzi elements: a crest centerpiece, two cherubs, a crown, two dragons, mythological creatures, and a bare-breasted, part female, creature-- all amid scrolling silver as a connective framework. Dangling below the medallion are eight big carnelian beads and a couple of flower disks. Fabulous!
The soldered bail is marked Peruzzi Boston Sterling (part of the word Sterling is covered with silver), which would date it to the 1930s or 40s. I purchased this piece with an unmatched chain and decided to offer it on a leather cord instead. You can wear this with your gold chains and carnelian beads for a dramatic look.
Including the engraved bail, the pendant measures 4-1/4"' by 1-7/8". Excellent condition.
