Here’s a charming piece with historical significance. This enamel clip is featured in Cristie Romero’s book, Warman’s Jewelry, third edition, on page 196. It has a few small spots of enamel loss and is otherwise in very good condition.

Am, circ multi-looped bow (a cockage) ptd red, white and blue, surmounting three ptd white notched ribbonns inscribed with the words “Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite" (Fr Revolutionary motto (Liberty, Equality, Brotherhood) in raised scrip, sponsored by the American Friends of France, which received a percentage of sales, rev mkd “SILSON, PAT. 120967 (design pat issued to Victor Silson, June 4, 1940), double-pronged hinged clip, 1-1/2” w x 2-1/4” $125.
