Art Deco carnelian and frosted glass necklace in sterling silver, outstanding design. Dating from the 1920s, this is a vintage or nearly antique piece that looks as dramatic today as it did a century ago. The center medallion is made up of translucent carnelian and frosted glass baguettes with carnelian triangles at bottom, measuring 1-7/8" by 1-1/8". It's a nice showy size and very architectural. The necklace is comprised of translucent carnelian stones (9/16" x 7/16") in raised frames. The color of the carnelian is rich cinnamon, a little difficult to capture precisely with my camera, which tends to redden and darken the color.
The necklace measures 14-1/2", choker length, easily extended for a larger neck. Marked Sterling, Germany, on the links. The condition is excellent with no issues.
