Outstanding Art Deco necklace in black and green galalith with diamante rhinestones made by Schreiber and Hiller, marked DRGM, dating from the 1930s. I've written about my love of S&H pieces here before but the most complete information can be found in Barbara Schwartz and Robin Deutsch's online article, "Mystery Solved".

The necklace is composed of black and green galalith "stones" separated by rows of channel set diamante rhinestones. (Some refer to the early plastic material as Bakelite.) It is invisibly strung on two thin silver wires. Gently curved to fit the neck, it measures 16" by 3/8". The smooth, sleek look and feel of the necklace is terrific, truly Deco in design, and highly collectible. It looks great on the neck.

There is repair near the clasp, a silver solder, that your hair may cover at the back. Or you can add a black ribbon bow for an extra bit of whimsy.
