Ornate antique Victorian earrings, 14k rose gold and yellow gold with rose pink pastes, in a very large size. These beauties feature a big flower with a pink center; little leaves; a sprig of buds; and an elaborately swirling ribbon, all framed in a thick, openwork oval. The surfaces are wonderful, engraved and highly textured or smooth. The yellow and rose gold play off each other and the rose pink pastes add a depth of color. The earrings measure 1-1/2" from the top of the wire by 1" across, and the tiered layers and ornamentation rise about 3/8" above the surface. These are front-clasp earrings, inserted through the back of the lobe, and the wires are hinged. There are two hallmarks, one of which appears to be a snake, that I haven't identified (yet); the earrings have been acid-tested as 14k. They weigh 8.8g together.
