Art Deco pendant by Lanvin, France, c1925. This early pendant from Lanvin is a remarkable piece that I've had in my personal collection for years. It's a rarity. Large and bold, it has strong details: an elaborately patterned silver metal front with raised decorations; a gleaming round paste; and stepped onyx sides, all framed in heavy silver-colored metal (tested, not sterling). The contrasts are pure Art Deco, an exciting array of textures and materials that represent the period. Large in size, the pendant measures 2-1/4" including the bail, by 1-7/8" at widest. The back is marked Lanvin, France, and the number 46. It's substantial in weight at 31.7g.
