Theodor Fahrner earrings in sterling with aqua spinels and marcasites, c1930. These Art Deco beauties feature sparkling triangular aqua spinels and tiny marcasites set in curved silver plaques. The surface of the silver divides in three sections of intricate corded wire applied in contrasting diagonals; these are punctuated with gleaming marcasites in starlike settings. The fancy bails echo these delicate patterns. The overall effect is heavenly, like a shimmering night sky.
Measuring 1-7/8" by 1/2" at widest, the earrings are medium size, and they have their original screw backs. I decided not to convert them for pierced ears so they would to retain authenticity, as many collectors prefer. If you choose to have your skilled jeweler replace the screw backs, the Fahrner hallmarks would remain. They are marked TF, Germany, Sterling, and they weigh 7.0g together.
