Art Deco pendant by Theodor Fahrner in a grand size. Composed of gilded sterling silver that is soldered with corded wire spirals, it features a large onyx cabochon and swirling tiny marcasites. The shape is a modified rounded square, and it is contoured to rise and fall with domed, decorated corners. It is striking and bold, notable for its gorgeous color, texture and craftsmanship. In person, the surface sparkles.
It measures 2-1/2" including the fancy bail, by 1-7/8" at widest. The reverse is signed Original Fahrner with the Fahrner TF logo and 925.
Fahrner's filigree jewelry like this pendant was produced in the 1930s.
The pendant weighs 16.9g and is in excellent condition.
My last photo shows it hanging from a chain for your appreciation, but the chain is NOT included.
