Antique Georgian foiled garnet ring, bursting with color and light. Twenty brilliant, flat-cut garnets are foiled and display a range of pink and rose hues with flashes of light. The ring is huge by all standards and certainly eye-catching.
Light dances across the top surface of the ring as well, and despite all of my attempts to capture this radiance, my photos are a poor substitute for the real thing. I took pictures in several types of lighting, and when on the finger, the color changes before your eyes.
The ring measures 1" around and is a size 7-1/2. It has been updated to a ring with 14k shank (tested, not marked) from another piece of Georgian jewelry. The back is silver. The center stone is chipped and there are a few other flaws as well, not surprising as this is an 18th century treasure.
