Antique Victorian sterling silver locket and collar, 1880s. The oval locket features beautiful, diverse patterns in applied silver and engraving. The collar chain is made up of flat, shapely links engraved with flowers, joined at the top by thick silver rings that create a woven effect. The links overlap or fan out. Joining the locket and collar are a large free bolt ring and attached wide bail. The combination of designs and textures is very lovely. The locket opens and closes well with no gapping. The inside is not outfitted. The front is in fine condition and the reverse shows one tiny dimple. You may bring up the shine by polishing if you wish.
The locket measures 1-5/8" excluding the bail by 1-1/4" wide.
The bail is 5/8".
The bolt ring measures 1/2".
The collar is 16-1/4" long and 5/8" wide.
The locket weighs about 11g and the collar about 29g, comfortable to wear.
