Antique victorian silver locket with a flying bird, intricate engravings, and applied silver decorations. This large locket displays beautiful, finely drawn features: a feathery bird; flowers, ferns, stems, and leaves; and two diagonal corner patterns. It is bordered by pointed, raised adornments and tiny embellishments. The front is raised and tiered.
The back is plain silver and unblemished. The locket opens and closes perfectly and the hinge is in fine condition. Inside, there are two thin frames for holding pictures.
Including the thick bail, the locket measures 2-1/4" by 1-1/2". The condition is excellent with only the most gentle wear. It is unmarked but tested as sterling, and it weighs 17.8g.
