Antique wide silver bangle bracelet with intricate and elaborate rose gold decorations. Finely detailed ivy leaves in rose gold are applied across the front, alternating with engraved silver leaves. Gold bars in a y-shape add interest to the center of the bracelet; more silver leaves intersect the middle and provide borders along the top and bottom front. The back is unadorned.
The silver surface of the bangle is silky smooth and appears frosted. The bracelet measures 1" wide and is slightly domed. Across the top, it measures 2-3/8" by 2" and will fit a medium sized wrist. The insert clasp opens well and closes with a snap. There are a few areas of minor depression on the back, not very noticeable, otherwise just age commensurate gentle wear.
The bracelet is marked S Bros., Birmingham, with the lion passant for sterling silver, and a small letter i. The lozenge shape indicates that the bracelet dates either from 1883 or 1908. It weighs 36.8g. The rose gold is at least 9ct, tested.
