Art Deco pendant with diamond and sapphire pastes, exquisitely designed, 935 silver. You have to see it in person to fully appreciate the beauty of this piece! Tiny square deep blue stones provide the perfect counterpoint to the multitude of clear pastes, large to tiny in size. The silver framework is pierced for precision contours, and light passes through the stones brilliantly. It measures 2-3/8" tall including the fancy bail, by 3/4" at widest. The back is marked 935 (a grade above sterling) and is rhodium plated. I believe this piece is German, possibly the work of Wilhelm Becker from Pforzheim, whose jewels are impeccable (see my other listings). The condition is excellent with only the slightest darkening of a few stones. It dates from about 1920-1925.
