Antique Victorian snake bracelet with garnet eyes, in sterling silver. Beautifully textured, with crisp details, this cunning serpent shows very fine silver work. The original cabochon garnet eyes accent the contoured head; the open mouth shows both upper and lower teeth. The snake's body is cross-hatched to resemble scales, and the smooth, graceful tail is patterned, somewhat rubbed. There is a lozenge hallmark on the tail that I don't recognize.
At 2-3/8" by 2-1/4" across the interior top, the bracelet measures about 7" inside with a soft tape. There is a little bit of "give" to the metal, so the fit depends on your wrist and hand size. I always suggest that you measure a bangle you already own for comparison, as stretching the bangle is not recommended.
The bangle weighs 21.4g and is in excellent antique condition with no damage or defects.
