Extraordinary antique Victorian coral hand pendant necklace in 14k gold, with a sterling silver heart, two turquoise stones, and black enameling. At once delicate and striking, this pendant features a lady's cuffed hand with clasped fingers; she holds a silver heart that hangs from an inflexible chain.
The natural coral hand is elegantly carved with beautifully detailed fingers. The cuff is ornately engraved; it is enameled in black and has a tiny turquoise stone "button" on the side. The rope twist chain is attached to a bar that swivels, and the heart dangles, so the piece has a bit of movement. The heart is dimensional, embossed, and set with a cabochon turquoise.
The pendant is unmarked but has been tested for 14k gold and sterling silver. In excellent condition, there is some slight enamel loss, but otherwise no damage, chips, or scratches. It measures 2" long by 1/2" wide.
The new, 17" chain holding the pendant is sterling silver with a gold wash and has a lobster claw clasp. It is unmarked.
