Antique crescent moon brooch by Martin Mayer of Pforzheim, Germany, early 1900s. This graceful, elegant moon features graduated, dazzling clear pastes that sparkle like diamonds. The faceted stones are round, all original, and uniform in color with no yellowing or graying. The brooch has a c-clasp. It is marked with Martin Mayer's hallmark of a star and wheel, and 935 for silver, a grade above sterling. The condition is very fine with slight surface wear to the stones, only visible with a loupe. One stone has been reset, indecipherable. The moon measures 1-1/4" by 1-1/8" and weighs 5.1g.
