Antique open-worked buckle with applied lizard, cut steel rivets, and a heraldic centerpiece. Constructed of bright gilt metal, this elaborate buckle would make a great pendant. Featuring a lizard with a curled and raised tail, it also has what appears to be a coat-of-arms at the center, scalloped edges, and a multitude of cut steel rivets that resemble bright marcasites. It measures 2" by 2". At the back, the old center catch has been folded over to accommodate a chain or ribbon.
