Antique Victorian natural shell pique earrings with beautiful birds and stars, in gold. This spectacular pair, dating from about 1870, features magnificent, golden crested birds with outstretched wings, surrounded by exquisite leafy decorations and an ornate border. The top connector bead has a bright gold, five-pointed star painted with a design of tiny lines. The earrings measure 2" from the top of the silver wire and they are 1/2" at widest. I don't see any wear or losses to the pique work. The earrings are not marked but have been tested. Just gorgeous!
