Art Deco ring with amazonite, blue enamel, and marcasites, in sterling silver. This ring is a superb example of German Art Deco jewelry between the wars, 1920-1935. The artistry is immediately evident: a faceted amazonite at center, horizontally placed, surrounded with elaborate silverwork studded with bright marcasites; and two gorgeous, blue enamel horizontal bars at top and bottom. As if the beautiful face of the ring were not enough, the patterned sides are glorious as well, ornate and sparkling.
While it might be a Theodor Fahrner creation, it is marked only Sterling, Germany.
It is size 4-1/2 and measures 15/16" north to south and 1/2" east to west. The fancy work on the sides has a wrap-around effect.
The ring is in very good condition with all original stones, none missing, and no chips or scratches. The enamel shows minor wear at the outer corners, nothing noticeable without loupe-scrutiny.
