Art Deco saphiret glass pin in the shape of a flower and framed with gold colored metal. Bi-colored saphiret glass was created in Gablonz, Germany, in the 19th century by mixing gold with sapphire blue glass. Its popularity carried its manufacture well into the twentieth century. This pin probably dates from the 1930s, judging from its safety clasp. It measures 7/8" around and is in good condition. There is some surface wear, please see close-up photos.
