Art Deco bronze medal, a highly decorative treasure. On the front, a maiden carrying a flower basket stands between frolicking goats in a verdant field; she is half-turned, and her left leg steps forward, with her foot resting on a ledge in the foreground. Three butterflies flutter on the left. The signature Jean Vernon is inscribed on the right. On the reverse, a satyr butts heads with a goat above leafy foliage. The medal is marked 1935 and in French, an award to the exhibitor with the best display. This piece is so beautiful, someone should find a way to wear it as a pendant. It weighs a substantial 21.7 and measures 1-3/8" around.
