Art Deco ring signed Theodor Fahrner, in silver with enameling and two genuine coral stones. This striking German Deco ring is rendered in red-orange with contrasting coppery-brown matte enamels. Two natural coral stones at diagonal corners add interest and texture. The face of the ring is soldered with corded wire in a pattern of stepped and geometric lines. There is more silver cording on each shoulder, and the shank is engraved (but looks worn). The ring measures 3/4" north to south and11/16" east to west. It is slightly out of round, and is a size 7-1/4.
This design style, referred to as "Matte Enamel with Stones", was employed by Fahrner in the late 1920s; I have dated the ring as 1928 based on similar examples in the definitive Fahrner book, "Theodor Fahrner Jewelry...between Avante-Garde and Tradition."
There is no enamel loss, no scratches or chips. The ring is marked TF in a circle and the letter D.
Please note: the photographs intensify the color saturation of the ring.
