Signed Theodor Fahrner smoky quartz pendant with black enamel and marcasite framing in 935 sterling silver. The superb quality of this pendant is immediately apparent. The beautifully faceted quartz sparkles brilliantly. The black enamel has a high gloss which is offset by the large stone and the surrounding marcasites and silver design.
Signed TF and 935, for silver a grade above sterling, on both the back and the soldered bail. It measures 2” including the bail by 7/8” at widest. The condition is excellent with no chips, flea bites, or enamel loss. The smoky quartz has a feathery inclusion directly at the center, clearly deliberate, for added interest.
Theodor Fahrner jewels were produced in Germany from approximately 1901 to 1979 and are highly valuable and collectible. When you hold one in your hand you'll know why. This piece dates from the early 1920s.
My photos were taken with an aqua background as well as a white background.
