Art Deco ring, marked Sterling, Germany, in heavenly blue chalcedony with marcasites, c1930. The large blue stone is translucent and appears lighter or darker depending on the light. It is prong-set and framed by contoured silver set with distinct rows of marcasites. The big, beveled-edge stone is eight-sided and measures about 5/8” by 1/2”. The face of the ring is about 1” tall and 3/4” wide, so it makes a striking presentation on the hand. The reverse is engraved with a pretty scrolling pattern. Close examination reveals that the ring has been enlarged to a size 7. Marked Sterling, Germany, in excellent condition with no missing stones.
