Art Deco spider brooch with magenta pastes in silver and other metals. Measuring 1/2” around, the web holds a spider with eight flared legs and two bright pinkish-purple paste stones. It stands out nicely from the slim, 2-1/4” pin.
The spider is yellow gold in color, and is likely 9ct gold or gold fill. I believe that the web is silver, but it’s too delicate to test. The pin itself is silver colored metal.
Unmarked, this charming, post-Victorian insect brooch (although technically, spiders aren't insects) is in very good condition.
