Magnificent Art Deco necklace and earrings in cornflower blue glass and dazzling large marcasites. This set is a rare find, an absolutely gorgeous example of French jewelry from the 1930s.
The necklace and earrings feature textural, molded glass in a heavenly shade of blue. This glass appears iridescent and darker in certain lights, which you can see in some photos. The design is raised and looks like smooth, overlapping triangles. There are ten glass panels in the necklace that match the earrings.
The necklace has eleven rectangular panels; these elaborately designed, open-worked panels sparkle with marcasites in a silver colored metal framework.
Marked Made in France on the necklace clasp and Sterling on the clip backs of the earrings. The earrings measure 3/4" long and 9/16" wide, with secure clips. The necklace is 15-1/2" long and 3/4" wide with a secure insert clasp.
The condition is excellent with no damage, chipping, or scratching and no missing stones.
