Graceful antique green turquoise ring with clear pastes. The turquoise cabochon is a deep, rich shade, framed in sterling, and the sparkling pastes set the color off nicely. The proportions are particularly appealing and the delicate construction itself is lovely, with a framework of silver scrolls holding the pastes. The ring is size 5-1/2.
The ring is marked 9Ct (for the shank) and some letters that appear to be a mis-strike of Sterling Silver. There is also a maker's mark, O or C, in a square lozenge. North to south, the face measures 5/8"; east to west is 7/16".
The sixteen pastes are in good condition for their age, about half of them showing some tiny chips with my loupe. I would say this is age-commensurate wear, and the flaws are barely noticeable, even with a loupe. The stones are still clear and very bright with no yellowing or darkening. Please note that the brownish spot on the outer edge of one stone was soil that I cleaned off after taking the pictures. Really a wonderful ring!
