With a softly stuffed, unjointed body made from white wool plush and a cloth mask face, this sweet little doll has survived the decades remarkably well.
Her plush is clean with little or no loss, and her face is almost as good, with just a couple of faint marks on her forehead and a crease above her right eyebrow.
I’m certain she was made by one of the leading English soft toy manufacturers of the era – Farnell, Merrythought, Chiltern etc - all of whom created this type of doll in the 1930s. They were nursery toys – intended for infants and small children – so they rarely survive in such good, clean condition.
