A 1990s reinterpretation of the 1920s boudoir doll, this lovely lady will look amazing reclining against the pillows of a feminine bed or, alternatively, she will catch the eye sitting on a high shelf with her long legs dangling down.
Her head, arms and legs are made from skilfully painted papier mache while her body is stuffed cloth. Her limbs are thread-jointed, a simple but effective method which enables her to change position.
She is dressed in long, peach silk drawers edged with lace, and a lovely drop-waisted dress made from hand embroidered fabric. The fabric used for both garments is antique/vintage. The drop-waisted dress and painted bobbed hair give her a ‘flapper’ look which is very appealing.
There is an artist’s signature on her back – Suki – together with the year she was made, ’95.
Condition: Apart from a couple of marks on the bodice of her dress (which may sponge out), she is in excellent condition.
