Dating from the 19th century, this is a pretty little purse for a medium-sized antique doll.
One side features a single painted pansy with foliage while the other has a painted iris with foliage.
The purse opens and shuts nicely and there is a suede lining inside.
These little purses used to be quite easy to find but they are much more scarce these days. The name and address of the original owner are handwritten inside the purse.
It measures 3 inches at its widest point, 2 ¼ inches high from base to clasp, and 4 inches from base to top of handles.
Condition: shows signs of wear consistent with its age – some discoloration to the leather, fraying to the straps etc.
