This sweet doll has blue glass eyes, a fixed head and jointed arms and legs.

She is dressed for a party in a voluminous net dress with cotton underskirt and a lace-trimmed undergarment. On her head she wears a little bonnet trimmed with lace.

Her ‘home’ is a lovely rectangular cardboard box decorated with a colour print of a boy playing a flute while a mischievous girl attempts to distract him by tickling him with a twig.

The inside of the box lid is decorated with a French trade card entitled ‘La Joie’ which means joy. For this reason I think of the little doll as Joy but her new owner can choose a different name if they prefer!

Condition: doll has no serious issues – her bisque is slightly discoloured in places as shown in the photos, and her long blonde hair is somewhat unruly. Also, her dress has some age-stains. The sides of the box lid are a little loose but they are in no danger of becoming detached.
