At the turn of the century it was popular for young women to handpaint china. They would buy blanks from France or Germany and paint them. It was also a suitable way for women to make money, since this says Brown’s Studio I think these pieces are from a professional studio selling their wares. There is a small round dish that measures 5 7/8” Including the handle and a longer dish that measures 4 1/4”H x 8 1/2”W. The bottoms of these are Lustreware and insides are creamy porcelain with a very heavy gold trim. They are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks or wear on the gold.
