This is a very rare prystal Bakelite bangle that is a bright shade of lime green, really pretty with yellow floral reverse carving. This is an iconic piece of Bakelite that’s on every Bakelite collectors list. It is in very good condition with just a little 1/8” dark mark on the edge that is visible but can’t be felt.(pictured) It can’t be seen from the outside, only the inside. This bracelet tests positive with simichrome and dates to the 1930’s-1940’s. It measures 2 1/2” across the inside and 3 1/4” across the outside , with 3/8” domed walls. This bracelet would have been expensive when it was made. This kind of Bakelite was sold in high end department stores and jewelry stores. I have been collecting Bakelite for many years and when I had a jewelry store I sold it, but I always sell it reluctantly because I am a collector. It is so much fun to wear an armful of beautiful bangles.
